About St. Vincent de Paul in Iron Mountain
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Iron Mountain was organized in July of 1973 by Vincentians Del Roberts, Milton Boucher, LeRoy Witt and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Izzo.
Our first location was a single room at the American Martyrs School and was opened one afternoon per week. Upon outgrowing that space, we moved to the Firme Building at 225 East Hughitt Street in downtown Iron Mountain in 1976.
Within the year, we purchased the former Sears Roebuck and Co., store building at 207 East Hughitt Street. With 10,000 square feet, we were able to expand our volume of merchandise to accommodate increased business. We also expanded our store hours to Monday-Saturday from 10:00 - 4:00.
Today our retail store and food pantry are located at 117 West A Street in Iron Mountain. Our hours are Monday-Friday, 9:00 - 3:45, and Saturday, 9:00 - 2:45.
Throughout the entire history of the Iron Mountain Conferences of St. Vincent de Paul, the principle objective of our members is the doing of good for someone else, holds true.
Behind all the good works of the St. Vincent de Paul Society is the Volunteer.
